Votre miel est cristallisé - Bravo! Mais comment le ramener liquide?

Your honey is crystallized - Congratulations! But how do you get it back to liquid?

If your honey is crystallized at the time of purchase or a few weeks later, it means that you have purchased a high-quality honey! Congratulations!

Why? Because it hasn't been overheated and has therefore retained its taste and nutritional properties. We like that!

So, don't throw it away!

But would you like some liquid honey again? It's simple!

Here's our lazy tip (!):

Place the jar in warm to hot water so that it slowly liquefies:

  • We use a cauldron, we place the jar(s) of crystallized honey inside and we fill it with water up to the lids of the jars (we leave the lid on the jar or we remove it, as we like)
  • We place the cauldron on the stove and open the burner as much as possible.
  • We wait a little for the water to warm up and we touch the water gently with our finger several times to check the temperature. Be careful not to burn yourself! When the water starts to be a little too hot for the finger, we close the ring.
  • That's all!
  • Then let the heat work gently and in the meantime go about your business.

A few hours later... (because we don't stay next to the stove anyway - we have much better things to do with our days!)

  • Touch the water with your finger to check that it is cold. Yes? The honey no longer liquefies.
  • Open the jar and stir with a spoon.
  • Is it still too hard for your taste? Let's start again! Turn on the burner to heat the water...is it hot enough? Turn off the burner and go back to doing our business.

You can do this as many times as you want and even until your honey is very liquid.

Oh boy! This is a long time you might say... and I have to do this every time I want honey?

Well no! ... it will be liquid and soft for a good while - probably several months, so you will have eaten your jar by the time it sets again! ;)

Note: If you want liquid honey just once in a while and in small quantities and you like your honey to remain crystallized, you can take just the necessary amount of crystallized honey and put it in a small mixing bowl or a small pot. Open the lid and stir continuously - it melts very quickly, less than a minute. And there you have it!

It's so simple, why deprive yourself of quality honey with all its properties now? No reason!
